For her daughter Emma's fifth birthday, photographer Jaime Mooore dressed Emma up as five famous influential women. When Jaime was looking for inspiration for a creative birthday shoot, all she found were girls dressed up as Disney princesses. So she decided to dress Emma up as five real women that she could learn about and look up to. She also included a photo of Emma running for president. Awesome!
The Unseen Beauty is a wonderful project by Dina Johnsen that provides a backstage look of the 2011 ballet season for The National Theatre in Belgrade. Here's a small glimpse of some of her shots from the book. Unfortunately, the book is not for sale. It was meant as a gift to The National Theatre in Belgrade.
Liu Jianan's photos tell masterful stories of beautiful women engaged in battle, exorcising demons and creating living human statues among others. Barbara Cole's Painted Ladies series blurs the line between paintings and photographs. Influenced by a painting by Lucien Freud, she began experimenting with an SX-70 Polaroid camera to perfect her technique. She created these photos by playing with studio lighting and manipulating the surface image to add dimension and the painterly quality.
