In honor of the International Year of Forests, Doo Creative teamed up with photographer Suresh Natarajan to create the Green Guardians Calendar 2011 and we can all be glad that they did. These shots perfectly match the beauty of women and mother nature.

These photos are from mostly from different projects, but they all have one thing in common, great use of light. Dan Holdsworth has found a way to compose interesting photographs by using different light sources as an emphasis. He's used everything from the beam shining out of a mountain, to the aurora borealis to a solitary lampost. I'm not sure whether this has been done on purpose, but it is quite effective.

Kevin Cooley's series "Light's Edge" features some great shots of light being captured. The majority of them are beams of light shooting into or out of the sky. Others show how lighting can affect the atmosphere. Either way, they are a great way of showing off light's magical properties in photographs.

These are some breathtaking black and white underwater photos by Hengki Koentjoro. These photos give you just a small but incredibly interesting look at what life is like in the deep blue. It just goes to show what a large, interesting and amazing place the Earth can be.

This is a pretty cool series of photos by Jeff Bark. The placement of his subject is very interesting. He is only clearly in view in one photo and is normally offset from the center, which creates some very interesting photos.
