This is one of those photos that makes you go "Wow". It's moments like this that you realize the beauty in life. It was shot by Jason Poturica in a weekend trip to Turtle Mountain.
I highly recommend the photo work of Zhang Jingna. She perfectly captures her models in elegant and expressive photos.
This is a wonderful black and white photo of a street in Lodz, Poland taken by Marcin Stawiarz. The contrast created by making this a black and white photo is what makes it so great.
From National Geographic's space photos.
Here's the caption: "The plane of our home galaxy, the Milky Way, seems to cascade over sandstone hills in a long-exposure nighttime shot taken earlier this month in Algeria's Tassili n'Ajjer National Park, in the heart of the Sahara. The bright "star" at left is the gas giant planet Jupiter. A UN World Heritage site, Tassili n'Ajjer is famous for its caves filled with thousands of drawings and engravings that date as far back as 6000 B.C. Photographer Babak Tafreshi writes on The World At Night (TWAN) astrophotography website that "prehistoric skygazers surely witnessed a similar sky." (See a similar picture of the southern sky over Brazil's Iguaçu Falls.)"
This is just one of the amazing shots in the Splashes series by Alexandra Zaharova and Ilya Plotnikov. How you can create a shot like this is beyond me.
This photo by Ario Wibisono perfectly captures the world of a child. The girl is staring intently at the doll waiting for something to happen.
A great photo from Hougaard Malan of a fence in Strand, South Africa. Here's a quote from Malan, "My Favourite fence from Strand, South Africa, once again.....a lot of people have got more than one deviation in their galleries of the exact same location, with the exact same composition, just different weather.and i hate that so i try to avoid that....this is a 7 minute exposure." Check out more of his work at his website.
